Dalla collaborazione tra Slow Food e la Milano Wine Week nasce una delle principali novità di Slow Wine Fair 2023: il Premio Carta Vini Terroir e Spirito Slow, assegnato da appassionati e professionisti del settore
Dalla collaborazione pluriennale con Milano Wine Week approda alla Slow Wine Fair – la manifestazione organizzata da BolognaFiere, con la direzione artistica di Slow Food, in programma dal 26 al 28 febbraio 2023 – il Premio Carta Vini Terroir e Spirito Slow, prima edizione di uno speciale spinoff degli MWW Awards, che celebrano le migliori selezioni vinicole del mondo della ristorazione e del retail.
Questo evento si aggiunge al percorso di valorizzazione inaugurato nel 2021 nell’ambito della settimana milanese del vino, la cui sesta edizione è in programma dal 7 al 15 ottobre 2023. Agli oltre 100 premi assegnati dalla giuria di esperti di Milano Wine Week si affiancano così 36 nuovi riconoscimenti, che saranno conferiti a Bologna lunedì 27 febbraio per celebrare la cultura del bere bene e del vino buono pulito e giusto, rafforzando il legame tra wine lover e locali che incentrano le proprie selezioni su vini con queste caratteristiche.
Ad attribuire i premi, una giuria di professionisti e il pubblico degli appassionati, che potranno interagire attraverso il sito della Slow Wine Fair.
«Al centro dei progetti di Slow Food sul vino sono i tre protagonisti della Slow Wine Coalition: vignaioli, appassionati e professionisti. Ecco perché riteniamo fondamentale esaltare la figura di coloro che per mestiere propongono i vini ai consumatori: loro sono il vero anello di congiunzione tra chi il vino lo fa e chi lo beve – dice Giancarlo Gariglio, coordinatore della Slow Wine Coalition e curatore della guida Slow Wine –. Il rischio che stiamo correndo è che nel nostro paese ci si dimentichi di queste donne e uomini ai quali il settore deve, invece, riconoscenza e attenzione. Anche per questo motivo abbiamo sposato l’ambizioso progetto realizzato insieme alla Milano Wine Week, che in questo campo vanta una grande esperienza».

Gli 8 terroir
Otto riconoscimenti saranno conferiti ai primi 3 ristoranti ed enoteche che vantano una selezione particolarmente forte su ciascuno dei terroir scelti. Fra i premi territoriali italiani, la migliore selezione di Barolo e di Chianti Classico (per le denominazioni più affermate) e la migliore selezione di vini irpini e di Trebbiano d’Abruzzo (per le denominazioni emergenti). Per i premi territoriali internazionali i focus sono, invece, la Loira e la Mosella e, per quanto riguarda i territori emergenti, l’Austria e la Slovenia.
4 categorie Slow
Non solo i terroir! Alla Slow Wine Fair sarà dato spazio anche a tre rappresentanti per ciascuna delle categorie tematiche che rendono protagonisti i vitigni, le certificazioni o l’idea stessa di vino buono, pulito e giusto, ovvero:
- Migliore selezione di vini provenienti da vitigni autoctoni “minori”
- Migliore selezione di vini certificati (biologici e/o biodinamici)
- Migliore selezione di vini con un buon rapporto qualità-prezzo
- Migliore selezione di vini italiani buoni, puliti e giusti all’estero.
Per tutto gennaio, il pubblico potrà candidare i ristoranti e le enoteche del cuore sul sito della Slow Wine Fair. Dall’1 al 15 febbraio una prima scrematura verrà affidata al voto degli appassionati, che definirà le prime dieci nomination per ogni categoria.
Subito dopo sarà la giuria di esperti a decretare i tre indirizzi per ogni tematica, che verranno infine premiati lunedì 27 febbraio 2023.
Wine Retail Awards – Terroir and Slow Spirit
From the collaboration between Slow Food and Milano Wine Week comes one of the main novelties of Slow Wine Fair 2023: the Wine Retail Awards – Terroir and Slow Spirit Edition, assigned by wine enthusiasts and professionals
From the multi-year collaboration with Milano Wine Week comes the Slow Wine Fair – the event organised by BolognaFiere, with the artistic direction of Slow Food, scheduled from 26 to 28 February 2023 – the Wine Retail Awards – Terroir and Slow Spirit Edition, the first edition of a special spinoff of the MWW Awards, which celebrate the best wine selections from the restaurant and retail world.
This event adds to the enhancement path inaugurated in 2021 as part of the Milan wine week, the sixth edition of which is scheduled from 7 to 15 October 2023. The more than 100 prizes awarded by the jury of experts of Milano Wine Week will thus be joined by 36 new awards, which will be conferred in Bologna on Monday 27 February to celebrate the culture of drinking well and good, clean and fair wine, strengthening the bond between wine lovers and establishments that focus their selections on wines with these characteristics.
To award the prizes, a jury of professionals and the public of enthusiasts, who will have the opportunity to interact via the Slow Wine Fair website.

The eight terroirs
Eight awards will be presented to the top three restaurants and wine merchants that boast a particularly strong selection of each of the chosen terroirs. The Italian territorial awards include the best selection of Barolo and Chianti Classico (for the most established appellations) and the best selection of wines from Irpinia and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo (for emerging appellations). For the international territorial awards, the focus is on the Loire and Mosel and, for emerging territories, Austria and Slovenia.
Four Slow categories
Not only terroirs! At the Slow Wine Fair space will also be given to three representatives from each of the thematic categories that feature grape varieties, certifications or the very idea of good, clean and fair wine, namely:
- Best selection of wines from ‘minor’ native grape varieties
- Best selection of certified wines (organic and/or biodynamic)
- Best selection of wines with good value-for-money
- Best selection of good, clean and fair Italian wines abroad.
Throughout January, the public will be able to nominate their favourite restaurants and wine merchants on the Slow Wine Fair website. From 1 to 15 February an initial skimming will be entrusted to the vote of enthusiasts, who will define the first ten nominations for each category.
Immediately afterwards, the jury of experts will decide the three addresses for each theme, which will finally be awarded on Monday 27 February 2023.
