Un esempio di tale partnership è rappresentato dalla recente fornitura di una confezionatrice combinata della serie CM 800 FP, installata presso lo stabilimento di Gurb (Barcellona), per l’imballaggio di bottiglie di latte Pascual in scatole di cartone wrap-around e nei formati vassoio + film e solo film con l’impiego di film termoretraibile 100% riciclato.
Il contributo alla sostenibilità ambientale
Pascual ha compiuto un ulteriore passo avanti nei suoi obiettivi di sostenibilità ambientale, diventando la prima azienda in Castilla y León (e la prima azienda lattiero-casearia in Spagna) a registrare, nel 2020, le proprie emissioni dirette e indirette (solo il 12% delle aziende lo fa) di CO2 presso l’Ufficio Spagnolo per i Cambiamenti Climatici (OECC).
Pascual migliorerà ulteriormente la riciclabilità e la sostenibilità dei contenitori di tutti i suoi marchi utilizzando il nuovo tappo “ancorato”, adeguandosi in anticipo ad una novità legislativa che rappresenta una vera e propria sfida per l’industria del “packaging”, poiché la direttiva sopra citata stabilisce anche che le bottiglie e i brik di plastica devono contenere almeno il 25% di plastica riciclata (un parametro che alcuni marchi come Bezoya già raggiungono al 100%).
Un ulteriore passo avanti nell’ambito della sostenibilità e nell’applicazione del concetto di circolarità è stato fatto con l’impiego di film termoretraibile 100% riciclato, utilizzato per il confezionamento delle bottiglie di latte Pascual in vassoio + film e solo film, realizzate dalla confezionatrice combinata SMI installata presso lo stabilimento di Gurb (Barcellona)
Pascual ha dato una seconda vita alla plastica e, grazie all’utilizzo di questa risorsa riciclata, anziché vergine, ha potuto ridurre l’impronta di carbonio della materia prima.

Presso l’impianto di Aranda de Duero (Burgos) sono attualmente presenti quattro confezionatrici fornite da SMI per l’imballaggio secondario, in particolare due macchine combinate della serie CM, una fardellatrice della serie SK e una confezionatrice della serie MP per l’imballaggio di contenitori da 0,15 L, 0,2 L, 0,25 L e 0,5 L in cluster 2×2, 1×2 e 1×3.
Presso lo stabilimento di Gurb (Barcellona) è stata invece recentemente installata la terza confezionatrice combinata della serie CM fornita da SMI a Pascual, utilizzata per l’imballaggio di bottiglie di latte da 1,5 L in scatole di cartone wrap-around (nei formati 2×2 e 2×4) e in fardelli 3×2 solo film.

La scelta di installare una confezionatrice combinata della serie CM presso lo stabilimento di Gurb nasce dalla necessità di disporre di una macchina flessibile in grado di rispondere alle esigenze di un mercato alimentare in continua evoluzione, che obbliga le imprese del settore ad adottare processi di produzione sempre più dinamici, competitivi e flessibili.

The contribution to environmental sustainability
Pascual has taken a further step forward, in its environmental sustainability goals, becoming the first company in Castilla y León (and the first dairy company in Spain) to register, in 2020, its direct and indirect emissions (only 12% of companies do so) of CO2 at the Spanish Office for Climate Change (OECC).
Pascual will further improve the recyclability and sustainability of containers, of all its brands, by using the new “anchored” cap and adapts in advance to a legislative novelty that represents a real challenge for the “packaging” industry, since the aforementioned directive also establishes that plastic bottles and briks must contain at least 25% recycled plastic (a parameter that some brands such as Bezoya already reach, 100%).
A further step forward in the field of sustainability, and in the application of the concept of circularity was made with the use of 100% recycled shrink film, used for the packaging of Pascual milk bottles, in tray + film and film only, made by the SMI combined packaging machine installed at the Gurb plant (Barcelona). Pascual has given plastic a second life and, thanks to the use of this recycled resource, rather than virgin, has been able to reduce the carbon footprint of the raw material.

At the Aranda de Duero plant (Burgos) there are currently four packaging machines supplied by SMI for secondary packaging, in particular two combined machines of the CM range, a shrinkwrapper of the SK range and a packaging machine of the MP range for packaging 0.15 L, 0.2 L, 0.25 L and 0.5 L containers in 2×2, 1×2 and 1×3 clusters.
At the Gurb plant (Barcelona), the third combined, SMI packaging machine of the CM range, was recently supplied to Pascual, this is used for packaging 1.5 L milk bottles in wrap-around cardboard boxes (in 2×2 and 2×4 formats) and in 3×2 film-only bundles.

The choice to install a combined packaging machine of the CM range at the Gurb plant stems from the need to have a flexible machine able to meet the needs of a constantly evolving food market, which forces companies in the sector to adopt increasingly dynamic, competitive and flexible production processes. The frequent changes in consumer habits and preferences impose new competitive challenges and a great ability to adapt, on the “food & beverage” industry, both with regard to the range of products to be offered and the packaging.
The CM range does its best in packaging plants characterized by frequent changes in format or product, like the CM FP 800 model chosen by Pascual, that processes 1.5 L PET milk bottles in wrap-around boxes and bundles in film only.

For instance, when the processing program involves packaging in tray or wrap-around boxes only, the heating tunnel and the film wrapping system are automatically deactivated by the machine control system.
