Il ritorno di Leister a MECSPE è stato accolto da un buon numero di visitatori interessanti alle innovative proposte dell’azienda
L’edizione 2021 di MECSPE si è tenuta a Bologna dal 23 al 25 novembre; il debutto nella nuova sede ha visto un afflusso di visitatori equiparabile alle edizioni degli anni passati, un buon segnale di ripresa per il settore. Gli stand delle oltre 2000 aziende espositrici, suddivisi in 13 aree tematiche, sono stati visitati da oltre 48.000 persone, a conferma della validità della manifestazione come vetrina d’eccellenza per le soluzioni rivolte all’industria manifatturiera
Leister Technologies Italia, filiale italiana della multinazionale svizzera Leister, leader nella produzione di soluzioni per la lavorazione della plastica e per i processi industriali che richiedono aria calda, ha partecipato per la terza volta a MECSPE: dopo le edizioni a Parma nel 2018 e 2019, anche a Bologna 2021 le innovative proposte dell’azienda hanno suscitato l’interesse del pubblico.
Le soluzioni Leister per il calore di processo sono utilizzate in un’ampia gamma di settori e applicazioni; la presenza a MECSPE di un pubblico eterogeneo con professionisti dei più diversi segmenti dell’industria manifatturiera è stata quindi un’ottima occasione per incontrare i clienti attivi e presentare inoltre l’offerta a chi non conosce ancora l’azienda. 
La saldatura ad infrarossi
Leister ha presentato i sistemi di riscaldamento a infrarossi Krelus, azienda svizzera entrata a far parte del gruppo Leister qualche anno fa. I sistemi ad infrarosso Krelus sono caratterizzati da un’elevata efficienza energetica abbinata a una minima inerzia termica. Trovano la loro ideale applicazione nelle industrie di processo, in particolar modo nel riscaldamento di materiali plastici o nell’asciugatura di tessuti o carta.
I sistemi KRELUS sono particolarmente apprezzati per la loro efficienza: riscaldano solo quando serve (ON-OFF in pochi secondi), quello che serve (la loro efficienza supera il 90%), e hanno una vita utile decisamente lunga.
Misura e potenza dei pannelli sono personalizzabili. Lo spessore della lamina inoltre può variare e questo determina la potenza al mq, così che è possibile cambiare la lamina e la potenza senza intervenire sulla misura. I pannelli si regolano con potenziometro o possono essere accoppiati con un pirometro laser.
Quest’ultima soluzione consente una precisione assoluta nel riscaldamento dei materiali: i pirometri sono in grado di rilevare la temperatura superficiale del materiale da riscaldare e, grazie al collegamento con un termo-regolatore che dà o toglie potenza al sistema a seconda della distanza dal set point di temperatura, ottimizzano i consumi garantendo un riscaldamento rapido e preciso.
La saldatura laser della plastica
Oltre alle soluzioni per la saldatura ad infrarossi, Leister è conosciuta in molti settori per la saldatura della plastica. Fra le tecniche più innovative in questo segmento, la saldatura laser: i visitatori hanno potuto vedere in azione una soluzione per la saldatura di materiali termoplastici compatta ma dalle prestazioni notevoli in termini di volumi, precisione della saldatura e tracciabilità del processo, caratteristiche apprezzate in particolar modo dall’industria automobilistica, elettronica e medicale.
Anche in questo caso, comprensibili questioni di ingombro non hanno permesso di esporre tutte le soluzioni laser per la saldatura della plastica di Leister, ma la presenza di tecnici dell’azienda ha permesso ai visitatori interessati di avere informazioni esaustive riguardo alle soluzioni di maggiori dimensioni.
Soluzioni ad aria calda per l’industria di processo
Infine, non potevano mancare in fiera i cavalli di battaglia Leister per l’industria di processo: i riscaldatori autonomi MISTRAL e HOTWIND.
MISTRAL, conosciuto e apprezzato da anni in svariati settori industriali, è in grado di funzionare in continuo, presenta un ingombro ridotto rispetto a soluzioni dalle prestazioni equiparabili e richiede impiantistica elettrica e meccanica a supporto veramente minime. I motori brushless assicurano una maggior durata eliminando le necessità manutenzione, grazie all’assenza di carboncini.
HOTWIND, il riscaldatore autonomo versatile per eccellenza, si differenzia da MISTRAL per una capacità più che doppia di generare aria calda: la potenza dell’elemento riscaldante arriva fino ai 5400 W nel modello più performante.
Entrambi i riscaldatori hanno ottenuto la certificazione UL. Grazie al design compatto, i riscaldatori autonomi sono l’ideale per l’installazione in macchine e impianti industriali. La certificazione sul singolo componente rende più semplice l’ottenimento della certificazione UL sull’intero macchinario, facilitando così il lavoro del costruttore. Per tutti gli altri dispositivi, come sempre Leister continuerà a supportare tutti i clienti nel processo di certificazione dei macchinari destinati ai mercati nordamericani fornendo tutta la documentazione tecnica necessaria.
La gamma di prodotti Leister è tale che non ha potuto essere esposta integralmente allo stand, ma i visitatori hanno avuto a disposizione i tecnici e commerciali Leister che hanno saputo illustrare anche i pregi dei modelli non fisicamente presenti, spiegando ad esempio i vantaggi dei vari riscaldatori che, abbinati alle soffianti centrifughe, consentono di realizzare il riciclo dell’aria calda. Utilizzando queste combinazioni di prodotti l’aria calda recuperata viene reimmessa ottenendo un notevole risparmio di energia, con grandi vantaggi per l’utente finale e per l’ambiente.

Leister solutions at MECSPE 2021
Leister’s return to Mecspe was welcomed by a good number of visitors interested in the company’s innovative proposals
The 2021 edition of MECSPE was held in Bologna from 23 to 25 November; the debut in the new venue saw an influx of visitors comparable to previous years’ editions, a good sign of recovery for the sector. The stands of the over 2000 exhibiting companies, divided into 13 thematic areas, were visited by over 48,000 people, confirming the validity of the event as a showcase of excellence for solutions aimed at the manufacturing industry.
Leister Technologies Italia, the Italian subsidiary of the Swiss multinational Leister, a leading manufacturer of solutions for plastics processing and industrial processes requiring hot air, took part in Mecspe for the third time: after the editions in Parma in 2018 and 2019, the company’s innovative proposals also attracted the interest of the public in Bologna 2021.
Leister solutions for process heat are used in a wide range of sectors and applications; the presence at MECSPE of a heterogeneous audience with professionals from the most diverse segments of the manufacturing industry was therefore an excellent opportunity to meet active customers and also present the offer to those who do not yet know the company.
Infrared welding
Leister presented the infrared heating systems of Krelus, a Swiss company which joined the Leister Group a few years ago. Krelus infrared systems are characterised by high energy efficiency combined with low thermal inertia. They are ideally suited for use in the process industries, particularly in heating plastics or drying textiles or paper.
KRELUS systems are particularly appreciated for their efficiency: they heat only when needed (ON-OFF in a few seconds), what is needed (their efficiency exceeds 90%), and have a very long service life.
The size and power of the panels can be customised. In addition, the thickness of the foil can vary and this determines the power per square metre, so it is possible to change the foil and the power without changing the size. The panels can be adjusted with a potentiometer or can be coupled with a laser pyrometer.
The latter solution allows absolute precision in heating materials: the pyrometers are able to detect the surface temperature of the material to be heated and, thanks to the connection with a thermo-regulator that gives or takes away power to the system according to the distance from the temperature set point, optimise consumption guaranteeing rapid and precise heating.
Laser welding of plastics
In addition to infrared welding solutions, Leister is known in many sectors for plastic welding. One of the most innovative techniques in this segment is laser welding: visitors were able to see a compact yet high-performance solution for welding thermoplastics in action in terms of volume, welding precision and process traceability, which is particularly appreciated by the automotive, electronics and medical industries.
Again, understandable space constraints meant that not all of Leister’s laser solutions for plastics welding could be exhibited, but the presence of the company’s engineers enabled interested visitors to obtain comprehensive information about the larger solutions.
Hot air solutions for the process industry
Finally, Leister’s workhorses for the process industry, the autonomous heaters MISTRAL and HOTWIND, could not be absent from the show.
MISTRAL, known and appreciated for years in various industrial sectors, is able to operate continuously, has a reduced footprint compared to solutions with comparable performance and requires very little electrical and mechanical support. The brushless motors ensure a longer life and eliminate the need for maintenance, thanks to the absence of carbon brushes.
HOTWIND, the versatile autonomous heater par excellence, differs from MISTRAL by more than doubling its ability to generate hot air: the power of the heating element reaches up to 5400 W in the highest performing model.
Both heaters are UL certified. Thanks to their compact design, the self-contained heaters are ideal for installation in machines and industrial plants. Certification on the individual component makes it easier to obtain UL certification for the entire machine, thus facilitating the work of the manufacturer. For all other devices, Leister will continue to support all customers in the certification process for machinery intended for North American markets by providing all necessary technical documentation.
The range of Leister products is such that it was not possible to exhibit the entire range on the stand, but visitors were able to meet with Leister technicians and sales staff, who were also able to explain the advantages of the models which were not physically present, explaining for example the advantages of the various heaters which, in combination with the centrifugal blowers, enable the recycling of hot air. By using these product combinations, the recovered hot air is reintroduced with considerable energy savings, with great advantages for the end user and the environment.
