Quest’anno Robox festeggia i suoi 50 anni di attività e presenterà alla fiera SPS di Parma il nuovo motion controller µRP-2 capace di elevata capacità di calcolo in dimensioni ridottissime
Robox è specializzata nel motion control e i suoi prodotti hanno particolare successo nel settore beverage e nell’alimentare, dove sono impiegati per macchine di ogni tipo: dalle più semplici con soltanto 1 o 2 assi, alle più sofisticate con decine di assi interpolati, grazie alla disponibilità di architetture “modulari”, “stand alone” o integrabili all’interno dei più noti azionamenti.
I nuovi motion controllers
Quest’anno Robox festeggia i suoi 50 anni di attività e presenterà alla fiera SPS di Parma (13-15 maggio) il nuovo motion controller: µRP-2.
Come suggerisce il nome, l’obiettivo è stato quello di sviluppare un dispositivo che rendesse disponibile all’utente una elevata capacità di calcolo in dimensioni ridottissime. In soli 55x80x34 mm µRP-2 garantisce la stessa potenza di calcolo del fratello maggiore RP-2, che ha superato le 30000 unità.
Ovviamente, le dimensioni ridotte hanno comportato il sacrificio di qualche periferica; µRP2 è comunque dotato di due porte ethernet utilizzabili ad esempio come master EtherCAT, di uno switch interno facente capo a 4 porte TCP/UDP/IP esterne in grado di soddisfare qualunque necessità di connettività, una porta CAN con protocollo CANopen ed una porta USB-Comm seriale. Infine, con un opportuno modulo WOM (WAN Option Module) il µRP-2 potrà connettersi ad una rete di fabbrica filtrando il traffico verso la rete locale. Il WOM permette inoltre di interfacciare in Axioline la completissima gamma di moduli Phoenix Contact.
L’Assistente Virtuale Robox

Grazie alla capacità di apprendimento continuo, le risposte fornite dall’assistente saranno sempre più precise, senza mai dimenticare il bisogno di una valutazione umana.

ROBOX is specialized in Motion control, and Robox motion controllers have been particularly successful in the beverage and food sectors where they have been used for any kind of machines.
The range of its axis controls allows any application to be performed, from the simplest (1 or 2 controlled axes) to the most sophisticated (dozens of controlled axes) thanks to the availability of “modular”, “stand alone” architectures or those that can be integrated into the most popular brushless drives.
The new motion controller
This year Robox, which is celebrating its 50th anniversary, will present its new motion controller at the SPS fair in Parma (13-15 May): the µRP-2.
As the name suggests, the aim was to develop a device that would provide the user with high computing capacity in very small dimensions. In just 55x80x34 mm µRP-2 guarantees the same computing power as its bigger brother RP-2 (the latter produced, to date, in more than 30,000 units) allowing it, for example, to drive the EtherCAT bus with a cyclic data exchange frequency of up to 2 KHz, or the 12 axes of two anthropomorphic robots controlled at the tool point with a frequency of 500Hz. Obviously, such small dimensions have led to the sacrifice of some peripherals.
µRP2 is equipped with two Ethernet ports that can be used for example as an EtherCAT master, an internal switch connected to 4 external TCP/UDP/IP ports capable of satisfying any connectivity need, a CAN port with CANopen protocol and a serial USB-Comm port.
Finally, µRP-2 allows, with an appropriate WOM (WAN Option Module), obviously miniaturized, to connect to a factory network by filtering traffic towards the local network. WOM also allows the complete range of Phoenix Contact expansion modules to be interfaced in Axioline.
The Robox Virtual Assistant
50 years of activity seemed like the best opportunity to present Robox initiatives in the field of generative Artificial Intelligence.
Robox has embraced the potential offered by generative Artificial Intelligence by dedicating itself first of all to the development of Virtual Assistants based on the latest generation LLMs with the aim of making it easier for users to use their hardware and software products.

The Virtual Assistant supports the operator but does not replace him: the assistant is a complement to the operator.
In addition to helping write programs in its R3, R++ and RPL languages, in the future Robox plans to also provide support in reading manuals, to quickly extract useful information in the event of an alarm. This approach allows the operator to intervene promptly, with the support of a system that does not reduce his role, but makes him more informed and prepared. In the future, thanks to the ability to continuously learn, the answers provided by the assistant will be increasingly precise, without ever forgetting the need for human evaluation.
The assistant is the ideal solution to make the most of the potential of Robox tools and allows you to work more intelligently, efficiently and without interruptions.
